Jew?

No it's not. Taito in original kanji is written as 太東 not 極東 (Kyokutou, Far East). 太 is the kanji character used to express phonetic pronounciation of Jew(Yuda 猶太). It's started off as Taito Trading. Quite few russian jews migrated to Japan after the revolution. Vapour

Location of Taito America

The move was two-fold, to move this page to the more appropriate title, and to get rid of an unnecessary dab page. I know you were trying to help but if moving Taito to Taito (disambiguation) was what I was requesting I would have done that myself. If a move request is made please take it literally. There are only two valid Taito articles to disambiguate from, the rest of that page is trivia. Now that it has been moved and the redirect changed I can't move it back, so if an admin closes this out, could they please delete the Taito (disambiguation) as well as move this page to Taito. ~ JohnnyMrNinja _{talk} 04:10, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

Were I to have taken the move request literally, it wouldn't have been a valid request, because the target wasn't a redirect. The discussion of whether or not the disambiguation page was needed would have had to come first. Anyway, the fact that there are no articles at this time for the other targets on Taito doesn't mean they are trivial; in particular, while the last one is almost certainly trivial, I doubt the one on the chiefly title is so, and it could perhaps have a useful bluelink to another existing article. You said on my talk page that the "Corporation" qualifier was unnecessary disambiguation, but even just because of the Tokyo ward, the qualifier is helpful. I just reread what I wrote earlier and it sounded a little rude. I was frustrated and apologize. I did request a speedy delete, along with the dab at Irem. Irem was granted, but not this one, because the admin felt there could be something valid there, and I should do a move request instead. I searched for some link that stated what a Taito was in Samoan culture, a clear statement I could link to. I found none. So I removed the info because (from Wikipedia:Disambiguation#Disambiguation_pages "Only include related subject articles as long as the term in question is actually described on the target article. (For example, the Canton disambiguation page legitimately has an entry for Flag terminology.)" As no Wikipedia article states what a Taito is, and I could find no external site that states it in any clear manner, I removed it. ~ JohnnyMrNinja _{talk} 08:14, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

It is discussed a bit at Taito Phillip Field, but I thought Fa'a Samoa was a better link for the entry than that page or Paramount chief (although it might make sense to add the words matai and taito to the blurb in Paramount chief that involves Samoa). Don't worry about offending me, and I'm sorry if I took anything you wrote the wrong way. Disambiguation pages are cheap and barely ever deleted - it's inobtrusive at the current location and it could conceivably become more useful in the future. Origins of Taito

The page here says Michael Kabon started Taito in 1953. The "Michael Kabon" page says he moved from Manchuria to Japan in 1939, and, considering the Communists had taken over China in 1949, I doubt he moved back to start a trading company.   • We go by what is the most common name, which is Taito. That is what they are always called, and it's even their logo. We don't have Microsoft at Microsoft Corporation (for example). The Hershey one is there because there are multiple possible uses for "Hershey" (the company, the chocolate bar made by that company, the town in Pennsylvania, etc.). Taito America's closure

The article as stands says that Taito America shut down in July 1996. I found this a bit odd, since it's well established that Taito sold all North American publishing rights to Acclaim in 1995 (what in the world were Taito America doing in those seven months?), and I've now found an article in the March 1996 issue of GamePro reporting "Taito has closed all its U.S. offices". Ordinarily I'd immediately edit the article to reflect this, but it's not immediately clear to me that Sanbou, the reference used for the July 1996 closure, is unreliable. Logo Date Incorrect?

I've grew up with, owned and used the original Bubble Bobble arcade game which came out in 1986, it definitely used the "modern" logo for the company. Yet this article claims "In August 1988, on the occasion of its 35th anniversary, the company changed its logo to the current one." with no citation. Perhaps they meant as a standard across the entire companies various product lines, or just their official office use, but the "modern" logo was definitely in use at least in 1986. Not sure how much effort it's worth to fact-check this, but if someone wants to do some digging that probably needs fixing. Edit: I should note this was in use on the arcade cabinet's detailing itself, not in the game ROM at the time. Taito on Italian Wikipedia - verbal abuse

I don't know if you can help since this is Italian Wikipedia. But I got my IP banned and insulted on Italian Wikipedia.

I don't know how to add an image, but I received a notification saying I was blocked for vandalism with "erunda durnizi" (ерунда дурницы) as the explanation, which translates to "bullsh*t from a moron".

I tried fixing Michael Kogan being described as Ukrainian and got verbally abused in russian. I wanted to fix the page and I feel the choice of language indicates a political (and not factual) motive behind my treatment.

I'd be happy if Wikipedia Italian was made aware of which ever mod or editor was behind this. I don't want other editors treated this way.
