re: The series' demise edit

Was this show ever aired in the U.S.A? If so. It never was picked by any of the Portland, OR broadcast stations. If it did run for 3+ seasons, I would remember it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.192.198.201 (talk) 06:08, 16 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

It aired in Dallas. DonQuixote (talk) 09:41, 16 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
It aired all over the U.S. I know it aired in North and South Carolina, Florida, Mississippi, and I'm sure many other states and cities. Just because you did not see it in your area does not mean it did not air in the U.S.A.

Has it been verified in any place other than internet articles that a 5th and 6th season was planned? I have a memory of something the editor wrote in "The Adventures of Superboy" companion comic (the comic was constantly in communication with the show's production staff). If memory serves, they knew at the beginning of the fourth season that it was going to end with the 100th episode and start a syndication run after that.

Also, I remember reading that Warner Bros. put a lien on the series during its syndication run the year after it went off the air, not while it was still in production. This would make more sense if it is true that Warner Bros. didn't want Superboy to run concurrently with Lois & Clark, as Lois & Clark wasn't picked up by ABC until nearly a year after Superboy was completed.

Citations needed edit

Although there is a list of references, a couple of statements need to have direct citations, such as the "traffic violations" that apparently led to the lead actor quitting. 23skidoo 02:14, 22 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

  • well, i've heard 2 different stories. the dui one and the one newton himself claims (http://www.supermanhomepage.com/tv/tv.php?topic=cast-crew/john-h-newton) that he asked for more money and wasn't comfortable with cranes used for the flying. i did a google search for his name and DUIs but at first glance only found this wikipedia page (though i do remember a magazine from 1992 talking about the dui). the only definitive thing i could find was this interview of him.

I personally am not going to change it because i'm not certain, i would suggest saying that the reason is unclear and giving both for fairness sake (clearly saying its disputed). Spookyadler 17:01, 27 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:GCSboyvideo1.jpg edit

Image:GCSboyvideo1.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 11:00, 4 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image copyright problem with Image:Superboy & Lana5.jpg edit

The image Image:Superboy & Lana5.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

Siegelville or Shusterville? edit

The production history section literally gives both names. I've looked and I've seen both being used, but can't find anything concrete. I honestly don't recall any character stating the name of the city. However, in the first season, the outside of the Shuster newspaper reads "Siegel Journalism Center", so if there was an intention of referencing both creators, that would serve the function. If anyone knows when in the first two seasons they name the city, please cite which episode and scene. Because short of rewatching those episodes and carefully listening to every line or going over every onscreen text, that's the best I've come up with. Bacteria (talk) 21:00, 27 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
