Things that need to be fixed/updated

edit

Hey, I tried to address the numbering issue about a month ago. Hopefully I didn't make any mistakes. But a few things still need to be fixed:

1) Someone deleted the Glamour Life box art, it needs to be readded.
2) Mansion & Garden box art (US version please) needs to be added.

Stuff Pack Numbering

edit

I think it should be noted that EA actually considers Family Fun Stuff to be SP#1 and Glamour Life Stuff to be SP#2. If one bothers checking the filenames of the games one would see them as sims2sp1.exe and sims2sp2.exe respectively. Despite Holiday Party being the actual first SP, it isn't officially marketed anymore and is considered part of Happy Holiday Stuff, which would then be SP#3. (Curiously enough, neither have separate game exe files, but the next stuff pack, Celebration, is sims2sp4.exe).

The Sims 2 IKEA Home Stuff

edit

It was officially announced at the EA store —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.247.125.69 (talk) 00:23, 6 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

It seems this SP was cancelled, this product isn't available anymore, visit the BBS topic --Iblis Trigger (talk) 16:47, 8 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
So I was right all along then, it will never exist. Jammy (talk) 16:50, 8 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

What makes you think it is cancelled? Only because it has been removed from EA Store? Maybe EA simply advised the people from EA Store to remove the information about the pack because it´s too early? That doesn´t mean it´s cancelled. EA isn´t that good in coordination of info, that´s all. IKEA Home Stuff WILL surely be released. Neo, 17:32, 13 May 2008 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.153.106.220 (talk)

Because an email was sent to everyone who had pre-ordered the game saying the game was cancelled. Jammy (talk) 17:44, 13 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
If you would read that email more carefully you will find out that nothing indicates it is officially cancelled. Only the before given release date was cancelled, not the pack itself. Neo, 21:04, 13 May 2008 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.153.106.220 (talk)
It IS official, it hasn´t been cancelled: http://www.diesims.de/products.view.asp?id=65. And it never WAS cancelled. Neo, 15:53, 15 May 2008 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.153.59.242 (talk)
Finally, it was officially announced @ The Sims 2 site -- Iblis Trigger (talk) 18:01, 15 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Wrong company infos !

edit

Maxis is dead since they are in EA, since 2007 the Maxis logo was removed from The Sims franchise ! It's no longer Maxis but it's EA Games only. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.52.208.241 (talk) 13:12, 17 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

No Maxis are not dead, EA don't make games, they assign companies to make games for them which they publish. Publishing a game does not make them the developers. So even if Maxis are dead, so would the Sims series as EA don't make games. Jammy (talk) 15:58, 17 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
Most of the employees are at "EA Redwood Shores" where they continue to work on the Sims 2 and other EA titles. EA is the publisher with many studios. Similar to that of "Rockstar Games" with studios such as "Rockstar North" "Rockstar Leeds" and others. "Maxis" however does still exist, it is the studio responsible for SPORE. Merged

edit

I went ahead and merged all of the stuff packs into one article. If anyone wants to go though and add pictures, go ahead. TH1RT3EN talkcontribs 00:53, 4 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • Yeah nice job (sarcasm). You messed up with the article. Scattered information everywhere. I cannot help here though, but please someone organize it fast !

Speedy deletion?

edit

This article is not about any of the things stated in the tag. I'm confused about why it was even added. TH1RT3EN talkcontribs 03:46, 6 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Not being the author

edit

I can and did remove the deletion tag. The best way to protect against its re-addition is to get a few third party references from magazines or reviews talking about these packs.DGG 06:01, 6 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

H&M stuff

edit

The information about H&M stuff on the sims 2 official web site seems to say that you can open a clothing store with this pack and have fashion shows and stuff a little bit like open for business. I haven't added anything to the article, but I think it would be useful for someone else to read the web site info and give me their input on the pack before change anything. Still the pack is categorized under stuff packs so I'm not holding my hopes up. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 468jgirl (talkcontribs) 01:58, 7 May 2007 (UTC).Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Sims 2 Holiday.jpg

I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. The Sims 2 Holiday Edition 2005

edit

The cover used is actually a pre-release box art. The box art used on the actual product at the time of release is a different (and more polished one). This is why I'm going to change it. It would be appreciated if someone removes the white borders. I did it in Paint, but the program also decreased the quality of the overall picture. So I left it in its orginal state instead. --Funnykidrian 02:32, 28 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Nevermind, I figured out how to do it in Photoshop. --Funnykidrian 02:45, 28 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

IKEA Home Stuff

edit

Added "IKEA Home Stuff" again, it was removed twice. This stuff pack is indeed official:

SP#s

edit

recently there was a section of the article that was deleted that claimed SP8&9 were soon to be announced. IKEA HOME STUFF is SP8, reference the SP# in the url: http://thesims2.ea.com/about/sp8_index.php Also the SP's in order so far are: Holiday Party Pack (no SP#, not officially a stuff pack, rather a bonus for the owners of the holiday edition of the Sims2) Family Fun Stuff (SP1) Glamour Life Stuff (SP2) Happy Holiday Stuff (no SP# on disc, not listed as a stuff pack, but "SP3" number is inferred by the next SP#) Celebration Stuff (SP4) H&M Fashion Stuff (SP5) Teen Style Stuff (SP6) Kitchen & Bath Interior Design Stuff (SP7) IKEA HOME STUFF (SP8) Griggs08 (talk) 01:26, 23 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hey I made that section and I understand what you said. I was just relaying the info from EA Store. The refs I had posted used SP8 and SP9.(until official names were finalised) I would like some more information on why this section was deleted. I'm taking it as if you deleted it(not saying it was you though) that's just what it seems. Thanks![[Virginia, USA|Virginia Rocks]] (talk) 02:19, 24 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

EP9 Incorrect Labeling

edit

"EP9" has been labeled for the Stuff Pack 9 (Garden & Home), this is incorrect - or is this something I am not aware of as to why a stuff pack, has been issued an expansions title. If so please cite. (196.210.232.2 (talk) 19:19, 13 December 2009 (UTC))Reply

Actually, it is EP9. Although on the cover, and in name, it is a stuff pack, it is actually a mini-expansion pack (by virtue of it adding the roof pitch tool, as well as elements like green technology), and installs/runs as EP9. Inserting the disc, in My Computer it reads "Sims2EP9". From the disc's autorun.cfg file "Registry=EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Mansion and Garden Stuff Executable=Sims2ep9.exe AppName=The Sims 2 Mansion and Garden Stuff". Sims2EP9.ico is the name of the icon used for M&G. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.19.34.67 (talk) 21:31, 1 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Designer - W. Wright

Will wright left after The Sims 2 University, that is looong before the first pack, Family Fun was released. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 196.210.232.2 (talk) 12:03, 14 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Wrong Image

edit

The image used for the Happy Holiday! pack in the article image is incorrect. Also, the section does not say that it was called the "Holiday Party Pack" in Australia and possibly New Zealand. I will edit the image with a more correct image when I scan my own copy. Feel free to revert if anybody feels the old image is more appropriate. Jdenm8 (talk) 13:37, 17 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
