Why is PS part of nearly every government (regional, local, ...) in Wallonia en and on Belgian level? The reason for this appears to me mainly that it is the biggest French-speaking party. That allows it to dominate the local, intermediary and regional/community levels of governement. In addition, the large-scale system of double majorities on Belgian level makes it necessary to always include at least one Franch-speaking political party and one Flemish party. --Rudi Dierick 14:05, 7 Nov 2004 (UTC)

The article is not neutral at all. It is clearly written by someone with (extreme?) right wing sympathies. First of all, the ethnic origin of representatives is irrelevant. And second, there is no proof at all that there is any relationship between the PS and the Nijvel gang and the Dutroux affair. The last remark ('even though he got a new well-paid function') clearly shows that this page is mainly politically motivated.

Fair use rationale for Image:Logo PS belgium.jpg edit

Image:Logo PS belgium.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Socialist Party (francophone Belgium)Socialist Party (Belgium) Parti Socialiste (Belgium)— Belgium's second largest political party is the only party of this name in Belgium. The French and Dutch versions of Wikipedia, which both use the French name Parti Socialiste, simply use Belgium for disambiguation purposes: Parti socialiste (Belgique) and Parti Socialiste (België). I'm not sure what should be done with the disambiguation page currently at Socialist Party (Belgium), which list this article, the Left Socialist Party and the Socialist Party – Differently, which have quite disctinct names of their own and are unlikely to be the target of anyone typing in "Socialist Party (Belgium)" into Wikipedia. As such, I think it is probably not worth retaining. City of Destruction 19:53, 14 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

It should be moved to a title with the original name (see Wikipedia:Naming conventions (political parties)#Exceptions number 4), which is "Parti Socialiste". So the title should be "Parti Socialiste (Belgium)" (which is currently a redirect to this page). SPQRobin (talk) 22:15, 14 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
That's fine with me, amending the move request to Parti Socialiste (Belgium). City of Destruction 23:52, 14 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

We need to say what they stand for edit

We don't say what the party actually stands for politically apart from in one sentence. This needs information on policies etc. Secretlondon (talk) 13:31, 28 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Fist and rose edit

If someone has reliable sources on the party’s former use of the fist and rose emblem, do contribute to Fist and rose#Belgium. Keriluamox (talk) 10:53, 23 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
