Proposed Rewrite edit

This article is sketchy, bitty, poorly organised and not particularly informative to readers who don't already know their Shalamar history. The basics are there, but it needs a complete and expanded rewrite, i.e. the group's most successful period (1979-1983 - the Daniel/Hewett/Watley years) is passed over in one four-line paragraph with some classic albums not even mentioned: what little there is seems to be written from a United Kingdom perspective as nothing whatsoever is said about the group's profile in the USA during this time.

I'm up for a rewrite, perhaps splitting the Career section into something along the lines of:

  1. Early Days (1977-78)
  2. The Daniel/Hewett/Watley Years (1979-1983)
  3. The Later Years & Decline (1984-1990)
  4. After Shalamar (1991-present)

I'll give it a week (until 4 July 2009) to see if anybody has any comments or suggestions. Thanks.Draggleduck (talk) 16:32, 27 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I will be up for that. Let's see your re-write

Trademark edit

I know a lot of Jody Watley fans are convinced that she owns Shalamar just because she registered a trademark but she does not!! If you believe that it is because you dont understand trademark law. Stop vandalising this page with your pro-Jody edits. This is a fact - Howard Hewett, Jeffrey Daniel and Carolyn Griffey have been Shalamar continuously since 2003. Their usage of the name takes priority over Jody's registration - FACT!! So please stop insisting that Jody Watley and her two unknowns are now Shalamar. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 5.80.217.110 (talk) 22:58, 13 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Angry comments from anonymous users don't tend to get a lot of respect in Wiki world. Your use of capital letters to exclaim your anger won't really get you anywhere either. If you have something genuine to add why not try rational statement of your arguments, will get you further. Status4 (talk) 11:19, 23 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

I only saw one word written in caps and it did not come across as anger to me. I agree with the first author. Shalamar and Shalamar Reloaded are two different bands. User 12191 (talk) 00:17, 16 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Did Jody acquire trademark? No edit

Jody Watley says that she purchased the rights to the "Shalamar" name. She did not. She merely registered the trademark fraudulently. She has no rights to the name so could people stop adding in sections on "Shalamar Overloaded"
