Contradictory info

The page had two contradictory claims about the location of the river's mouth. In the article's main text it says: The Satilla enters the Atlantic Ocean about 10 miles (16 km) south of Brunswick, at the 31st parallel north. Some additional text, added near the bottom below the External links section, said: The Satilla River enters the Atlantic Ocean near Brunswick, Georgia feeding nutrients to Cumberland Island, a national seashore. It is not to be confused with a tidal river of the same name that enters the Atlantic about 10 miles (16 km) below Brunswick.

Looking at the USGS GNIS information and map it seems like the second bit of text is likely about the Little Satilla River, not the Satilla River. See, for example, U.S. Geological Survey Geographic Names Information System: Satilla River, U.S. Geological Survey Geographic Names Information System: Little Satilla River. For topo maps, click on "GNIS in Google Map" on the GNIS pages and be sure to zoom in and select the "Topo" button. Looks to me like the Satilla River is indeed about 10 miles south of Brunswick. Not obvious to all

The article reads:

Because it is strictly a coastal plain river, it is a black water river

Say what? First, what the hell is a "coastal plain river"? Never heard of the term. Second, what is a black water river? I think I know, but shouldn't this either be explained or wikilinked? Finally, are ALL "coastal plain rivers" also "black water rivers"? This reads like it's by a member of the CPR club. 98.82.84.209 (talk) 21:12, 1 June 2012 (UTC)

Thanks! I just happened to have it on my watchlist and happened to know a little about these terms. I assume "coastal plain" was supposed to mean the Atlantic coastal plain. The area has a lot of blackwater rivers, but it is hardly a given that rivers in the coastal plain are blackwater. I thought it was funny that at first the blackwater link was to black water, which is very different from blackwater river! Anyway, just a topic I'm somewhat familiar with. The Blackwater River (Virginia) page was one of the first I made, because my long long ago ancestors lived near it. But I didn't know what a blackwater river was until I read a bit about that particular Virginia river. Pfly (talk) 09:21, 3 June 2012 (UTC)
