Basilica?

I am not an architect, but I think a Basilica is quite different from the Salute, the plan of which is mainly central. I suggest to shift the article under the already existing Santa Maria della Salute title, and to refer to it in the text as a "church". --Stefano Remo 08:40, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

Origin of the name?

Is that correct? Shouldn't "salute" refer to a formal welcome, that is either the when the Lord's angel greeted Virgin Mary and telling her about her pregnancy or the meeting between St. Anna, mother of John the Baptist and the Virgin Mary? 82.131.210.162 (talk) 20:33, 17 November 2008 (UTC)

Built of stone blocks of northern towers of Diocletian Palace

The interesting story is basilica was partly built of the stone blocks of Diocletian Palace in Split, Croatia. Walter9 (talk) 16:11, 4 March 2024 (UTC)
