Talk:San Felipe, Baja California

Copyvio? edit

The history section seems to be copied from here (according to Firefox's "Page Info" function, the page was last modified 2005-05-18). Thoughts? -Branddobbe 07:01, 30 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Unique? edit

"San Felipe is located in a unique ecosystem, where the desert meets the sea." Given that "unique" denotes something that is one of a kind, is this really the only place on earth where desert meets sea? Perhaps "rare" or "unusual" or "uncommon" might be better wording. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.85.97.11 (talk) 00:05, 19 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

TMI edit

Too much information about hotels in the history section. I will remove and summarize to solve the advertisement issue. I will also attempt to be factual about the Tourism section without removing too much, there must be a cited source otherwise it will have to be removed. I will look for sources but could use a little help. Anyone for a trip to the library? -- Cdw ♥'s(talk) 00:51, 21 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Critically Endangered Vaquita Porpoise and Local Illegal Fishing edit

From the article: "One fisherman was killed and another lay in coma after a ship from Sea Shepherd Conservation Society rammed a local fishing boat, breaking the boat in two on December 31, 2020.[1]" - This is the exact opposite of what happened. There is a video from the Sea Shepherd boat showing the "local fishing boat" (violent pirates fishing for critically endangered fish for illegal chinese black market animal products using illegal gill nets which have been the cause of the imminent extinction of the Vaquita porpoise) were the ones who were the aggressors. I will add sources later and edit the article. The article should mention the controversy around the Vaquita porpoise. The article should also mention that the annual rainfall is less than 2 inches per year. Isonomia-107 (talk) 21:11, 15 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

It has been one month since I posted here. I am checking the source referenced above, and I intend to most likely delete the source, after confirming that it is unreliable and makes false contentions contradicted by the video and reliable sources. I also intend to alter the statement cited above to accurately describe what happened according to video and reliable sources. I intend to add at least one source, which will include the video of the incident, to support my alterations.
