Not a think tank edit

A recent edit dropped the category Think tank, on the basis that it's redundant with Think tanks based in the United States. However, SRI is not a actually this type of entity at all. According to the Think tank page, such organizations are essentially policy institutes, possibly carrying out advocacy or consulting roles, and funded directly for these roles by governments, private corporations, or other sponsors. SRI is an independent non-profit research institute. It sets its own scientific agenda and undertakes research supported by numerous different agencies, both in the US and elsewhere. Also, it is not a Federally Funded Research and Development Center. Therefore, I'll remove this article from the Think tanks based in the United States category. jxm (talk) 01:04, 6 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

SRI or SBI??? edit

I think that parts of this article have confused SRI International with Strategic Business Insights (SBI).

As far as I understand it, SBI was formed out of the former business intelligence unit of SRI. This distinction is not at all clear from the article. It may be important because the pyschographic segmentation technique known as VALS (value and lifestyles segments) links to this article. However, it would be more accurate if VALS linked to an external link, namely http://www.strategicbusinessinsights.com/about/ which is where users will be able to obtain more information about the segmentation method.
