Fitness edit

Roy Castle ought to be credited for helping to spark the fitness movement in the UK with his television appearances in the late 1970s.  ProhibitOnions  (T) 16:16, 19 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Roy Castle was Liverpool supporter edit

Although I was unable to find any references on the internet, I found out that Roy Castle supported Liverpool F.C because he attended a Liverpool-Everton derby game a few months before his death; and stood on the Kop for the last time in such a game before it was replaced by an all-seater stand. Since he clearly suffered from severe mental health problems, I don't think he should be credited with anything in this field. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.22.116.71 (talk) 21:33, 13 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

What evidence is there of him having been mentally ill? Jim Michael (talk) 21:17, 24 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
None at all, I've had to revert the inclusion of such nonsense several times lately. Parrot of Doom 23:41, 24 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Good causes and religious belief edit

It would be good to note that Roy Castle was a regular church goer while living in Gerrards Cross, he also supported many local good causes. Roy Castle was a genuine personality who was the same on stage as off, having the slightly shy warm personality as shown on the Record Breakers TV show. This article does not do justice to what a very decent man he was - unlike many other people in show business. It would be good if this article could reflect what great affection people had for Roy, publicly, privately and in his professional life. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.149.199.217 (talk) 10:07, 29 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
