Apostrophe? edit

Ahoy' or Ahoy? Its official site does not seem to use the apostrophe. Anthony Appleyard 16:19, 18 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

According to the Dutch article, the venue's name was written as Ahoy' Rotterdam until 2007, when the apostrophe disappeared. It doesn't cite a source, however. ―JochemvanHees (talk) 14:36, 10 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Why are the MTV EMA and JESC not included in the list of events? edit

I noticed that the Events section contains first a list of events, and then the next sentence is "The 1997 and 2016 MTV Europe Music Awards and the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2007 were also held in the Ahoy Arena." I was wondering why this isn't just included in the list? ―JochemvanHees (talk) 14:24, 10 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

@JochemvanHees: Because its supposed to be for only notable sporting events. I'll update it now. Fort esc (talk) 15:00, 10 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

When was the Sportpaleis renamed to the Ahoy Arena? edit

The lead says in 2016, but it doesn't cite a source. It looks like that info was added in 2017 in this edit by an anonymous user, but that IP address hasn't been active for a long time. I have been searching for the past two days for a source that confirms the statement, but I couldn't find anything. I do notice that older sources use the term "Sportpaleis" and newer ones use "Ahoy Arena", but never both. It may have something to do with Ahoy getting a new logo in January 2016, but the news articles about that don't mention either name. Does anyone have more info? ―JochemvanHees (talk) 22:20, 11 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Update: So I this YouTube video from January 2016 calling it Ahoy Arena, but I also found this news article from 2018 still calling it the Sportpaleis. I think it's fair to say that there wasn't any official rename, and that both Sportpaleis and Ahoy Arena are both names of the same venue. I'm updating the article to reflect that. ―JochemvanHees (talk) 22:56, 11 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
