Road Rash 3d

Guys, I've noticed that the playstation version of Road Rash is listed as being just Road Rash. I own the game, and it is sitting here right besides me. However, the cover and in the game, it is labeled as Road Rash 3d. Why does this article not list the 1996 Playstation game under Road Rash 3d? Stuurm (talk) 03:02, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

"PC" explanation for lack of controversy

I don't understand this bit:

Road Rash got little to no attention in the video game controversy of the '90s. Some of this may be attributed to the designers skewed, yet balanced rules of political correctness: Violence and rewards are divided up equally between ethnicity and sex and stereotypes are balanced by representing a cross-section of characters all behaving badly.

Now, it's been a long time since I've played the game, but I don't recall much in the way of "political correctness" there, and I certainly don't see what the point is. I'm also not sure what "... skewed, yet balanced ..." means --- it strikes me as an oxymoron, frankly.

Whoever wrote the article including things like "aggression decay" or whatever really knew their stuff.

3D0 before Mega Drive?

Yep, that's totally screwed up. The mobygames link confirms it. The problem is that there was a numbering reset for the 32 bit versions. I think a lot of this article was written by someone who wasn't aware of the first three. 71.236.147.130 22:56, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

First racing game with combat?

I dispute this too. Racing Destruction Set came out in 1985.

I think they may have meant, first racing game where it's actually the PEOPLE doing the combat rather than vehicle mounted weaponry/armour, i.e. Kicking and Punching others off their motorcycle rather than shooting/dropping mines etc.

Fansite deserving of link?

I've just been on the fansite, and it's very patchy, with a lot of information missing or incorrect (e.g. it wrongly says that Madame X is the only user of nunchucks in RR3). I'm not sure it deserves a link on the page - if fansites of that low standard were allowed on music/band websites, each major artist would have hundreds of external links! 86.140.143.162 13:28, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

The website (mine) is quite authorative its the only one i know that is actually dedicated to the 16-bit era of road rash

weve got scans of magazine reviews, prototype screenshots, ads, manuals, covers, each and every character in the game has a profile (If something is wrong eg the nunchuks issue with Madame X pls email me at james@welcometotherash.com and I can correct but pls tell me who else has nunchuks in RR3 AFAIK it was only her so a screenshot for verification would be good)

We also have all the afterrace comments by the other characters on the 'comments' page, i ripped these from the ROM then formatted them, and a list of all the weapons and bikes etc

I also have the very early version of RR3 cited on the 'versions' page which im waiting for someone to dump for me which i will realease on the site for everyone

I understand the design of the www isnt fantastic (I always value content above looks) but im currently rolling out a wiki here: http://welcometotherash.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page which i may roll out as the main site when its finished

i accept too many fansite links are an annoyance in droves, but the fact is AFAIK this is the only one around ATM, and has some material of interest to RR fans

Restructuring article

Okay, I began chopping up this skewed article. Can someone determine where the "playable characters" are supposed to go, or if it's even necessary to put it in this article? Road Rash 3D is a separate title from Road Rash 3Do/PS1/Sega CD

Road Rash 3D featured fully polygonal models, and alternate routes. It had a different soundtrack. It was a different game. Maybe I'll write a section on it, but I'd have to dig it out and play it. I concur with this. After the Road Rash 3DO (and subsequent Saturn/initial PSX/PC version) but before Road Rash 64 was Road Rash 3D which was distinguished from previous versions by it's 3D polygonal build (as opposed to Road Rash '3DO's' Need for Speed style 2D build). I distinctly remember the soundtrack of 3D having Sugar Ray, Kid Rock and Civ amongst other bands where as the '3DO' version had the early 90s A&M bands like Swervedriver, Soundgarden, Paw, Monster Magnet etc. It was definitely a different release. Road Rash on Sega Mega Drive unwinnable?

I own the game (PAL version) since its release in 1991 and I've been wondering if anyone can confirm this. Splitting Road Rash game from 2009
