I believe that the correct title of this game is Irodzuki Tincle no Koi no Balloon Trip, rather than Irozuki Tingle no Koi no Balloon Trip. I'm suggesting a page move, but won't do it if there's a decent amount of opposition. —Resound (talk) 22:05, 29 April 2010 (UTC)

- I don't know enough about Japanese characters to decide if Irodzuki or Irozuki is more accurate, but what I know is that this article shouldn't be called "Tincle." Because Tingle is also the name's official romanization in Japanese materials. "Tincle" has only been used in the URL of the Rupeeland teaser site and for the file names of one or two images related to the same game at Nintendo's Japanese site. In any other more recent occurrence I know of, it is Tingle, as also explained here. --Grandy02 (talk) 08:43, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
- Regardless, until (if) this game gets an English release, it's impossible to judge the game's name. Quite few Japanese-speakers (those who helped me get through the game) told me that the name is "Tincle". I'm afraid I'm in the same boat as you; I'm unfamiliar with Japanese for the most part. I can't really back it up, but I'm pretty sure it's "Tincle", seeing as the websites that actually have reported on it use that name. - As someone decently experienced with Japanese: A) The only difference between Irozuki and Irodzuki is the romanized writing system used. It is inconsequential. B) The Japanese Wikipedia page for Tingle romanizes it as Tincle. Which makes sense; a direct romanization from his Japanese name would be "Tinkle" anyway and the k in there becomes 100% interchangeable with a k-sound c.
- What concerns me more is that this page mentions it can be translated as "Color Changing Tingle's Balloon Trip of Love". If you compare to the name of the prequel, which is "Freshly Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland", the translation really only would make sense if you translate the first word as Ripened. --DaVince21 (talk) 11:30, 4 March 2014 (UTC)
- Japanese (Hiragana/Katana) characters and possible romanisations:
- チンクル ~ Chinkuru, Tinkuru; western name: Tingle
- づ ~ dzu, zu, du
- ず ~ zu
- "Irozuki" vs. "Irodzuki": When using "Irozuki" one doesn't know whether it is written with "づ" or "ず". If written as "Irodzuki", then it's clear.
- As for Chinkuru, Tinkuru, Tincle, Tingle:
- Japanese Wikipedia (as any other wiki) doesn't count as source.
- www.nintendo.co.jp/tincle/ (appeared around the time of the release of Tingle RPG1) has "tincle" in the url, but www.nintendo.co.jp/nom/0908/tingle/index.html (2009; Tingle RPG2) has "tingle" in the url. So, if one would go by the url name - which would be questionable -, then one could argue that "Tincle" is outdated and that it's now "Tingle".

- How about giving multiple name variants, like saying that the title is sometimes romanised as "Iruzuki" and sometimes as "Irodzuki" etc.? Maybe one could also add, why which method is used (e.g. using "dzu" to differ between "づ" and "ず").
