Why is the house described as as the oldest in New Hampshire or Maine. The two states have no connection and whatever house in Maine is the oldest should be listed separately. 66.31.76.221 (talk) 17:21, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
- "No connection"? You forget the Piscataqua River, i.e. the Maine-New Hampshire border, which this house is less than a mile from. --Ken Gallager (talk) 12:36, 17 June 2009 (UTC)
- Massachusetts is only 15 or so miles away, should we include that state as well? These sorts of superlatives are normally done on at a state level. Just beacuse the house is near the border is no reason to mention Maine at all. 66.31.76.221 (talk) 16:35, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
- Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and Kittery, Maine grew organically as a major seaport. The "Portsmouth" Naval Shipyard is actually in Kittery. We all know there are many older houses in Massachusetts, and 15 miles was a full day's journey, so no, there's not the same connection at all. --Ken Gallager (talk) 12:31, 15 September 2009 (UTC)
