I would like to find a review that said more than "... I would have enjoyed as a kid" - this short novel is still a great read as an adult. I have had it since the Scholastic edition came out and may look for the anniversary edition to see what extra material it has. I'm going to look around and see what I can come up with online, but if anyone has a print edition of a review in one of the old pulps or another magazine/newspaper, please post here as a reference. This was Silverberg's first book, published in a hardcover edition that Kirkus reviewed.[1] I will add it to the article as [ref name=kirkus] but leave its substantial use as a source to others.
Done It provides some support for the Plot summary, paragraph three, an interpretation that needs support. The review by Jon Davis ("Comments" on his webpage) is more substantial with some notes on the 35th Anniversary Edition.
Kirkus reviewed more than 100 books by Silverberg including more than 50 as sole author. Paging thru the search report I noticed several starred reviews among the latter (sole author), mainly nonfiction books.
ISFDB reports three reviews in pulp magazines including Galaxy.http://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/title.cgi?2796] All three appear in review columns where the review of at least one other book begins on the same page. They may be no longer than the review by Kirkus.
Because this was Silverberg's first book, I feel sure that more in the nature of review is available in some biographical/commemoration/Festschrift, as well as the 35th Anniversary Edition. --P64 (talk) 17:36, 15 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
