Birth place check

Lot of news sites are leeching info from Wikipedia on his death; so the info here should be accurate. I doubt that he is from Kerala or Malayalee. Most magazines say he is from Coimbatore. If Raghuvaran is a Malayali, why his name is given in Tamil scripts along with Malayalam??
