Governor General ?

Isn't the Governor General not admitted into the order until after his or her term ? This [1] would suggest otherwise Dowew 04:40, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

Name

Do we know if it will be renamed King's Service Order now that New Zealand has King on the throne? Master Editor 10 (talk) 16:50, 15 September 2022 (UTC)

According to the DPMC website: The title of the Order recognises the fact that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is the first “Queen of New Zealand”. So it appears that the Order is named after a particular Queen, Elizabeth II, not for the reigning monarch in general, similar to the Royal Victorian Order, and thus the name of the Order would be expected to remain unchanged. "On 29 May 2023, the Prime Minister confirmed that the Queen’s Service Order and Queen’s Service Medal will be renamed in honour of King Charles III.
