Possible Hoax edit
The sources which this page has don’t actually support the claims made on it. The supposed “genealogy” links several Mughal era officials who were stationed in the Sylhet District but were otherwise unrelated, and the sources on nobility and noble titles don’t mention the Nawabs of Longla as existing, let alone that this family held this title. The story of the Sufi mystic also doesn’t appear in the English language source they link to, and some of the Bengali sources are dead links. I think there is a chance this is a hoax. - It is a real Zamindar family, see for example, this article in The Daily Star. But the whole article could use a trim to get remove puff and promotional material.Vinegarymass911 (talk) 15:15, 4 July 2023 (UTC)
- A lot of the article seems to be written from a user whose page states a connection with the family, and seems to rely on original research, both of which are violations of Wikipedia policy. They may be a real Zamindar family, but the English language secondary sources, such as Eaton, and translations of primary sources, such as Blochman’s Ain, don’t back up the claims of being related to various other noble families nor do they back up the genealogy, or even to the existence of the title of Nawab of Longla. At the very least the article needs significant trimming and it needs sources that back up its claims. Daniel.villar7 (talk) 12:21, 5 July 2023 (UTC)
