Proposed move to 2016 Pike County, Ohio shootings edit

There are no less than 10 counties named Pike in the United States. I do realize that only one of them is currently investigating a murder case of this magnitude, but it would seem more natural to me to include the natural disambiguation of Pike County, Ohio in the title now, rather than need to try to do so later should there be significant shooting incidents, now or in the future, in any of the other counties named Pike. It also simply seems to me to be a more appropriate title. General Ization Talk 19:43, 26 April 2016 (UTC) Pinging major contributors: @Parsley Man:, @Rossbawse:, @Epicgenius: for comment. • Support, but make the new title 2016 Pike County, Ohio, shootings (closing commas before and after "Ohio"; serves similar purpose to parentheses and is grammatically in American English). epicgenius (talk) 20:48, 26 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
Consider the proposal amended. General Ization Talk 21:44, 26 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
Since the proposal seems to be uncontroversial, I'll make this change in a few hours (giving Rossbawse, and anyone else, a little more time to weigh in if there are objections). General Ization Talk 21:44, 26 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Would 2016 Piketon, Ohio shootings be more accurate than 2016 Pike County, Ohio shootings?

suspects possibly in Alaska edit

Not the greatest source [1] but it appears the suspects may have been spotted in Alaska. Beeblebrox (talk) 00:39, 20 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Ok, here's where they got their source information [2] and it appear I misspoke in calling them "suspects". Police want to know where they are and to talk to them, but they are not officially suspects at this time. Beeblebrox (talk) 01:54, 20 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
Dunno if this adds much to what is already in use, but here it is anyway: [3] Beeblebrox (talk) 04:04, 16 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

multiple page moves edit

@Dicklyon: @Anthony Appleyard: @Walk Like an Egyptian:

So, inquiring minds want to know: what's up with all the page moves? Was any of this discussed somewhere, and if so, why was there no notification here on the talk page? The reasoning behind the previous title before the recent multiple moves is still right up there at the top of the page, there are many places called "Pike County" and they've all probably had a shooting at some point, so "Ohio" seemed a perfectly reasonable disambiguator, but that seemingly has been overruled with no discussion here at all. Beeblebrox (talk) 19:07, 9 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

All of the pages were moved without discussion, so I requested a lot of moves as seen in some of the revision histories as it didn't follow the naming convention for mass shootings. As for the latest move, I think that this new title is fine. There was another shooting in Pike County, Kentucky, but that wasn't a mass shooting. --Walk Like an Egyptian (talk) 21:19, 9 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
The first move I did (with two commas) was at least in accord with the 2016 discussion above. But some people weren't keen on that, and the state was unnecessary disambiguation, so I tried a different approach. I'm up for discussing if any objects to the current title. Dicklyon (talk) 22:02, 9 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
I'm not sure I do object, but it's odd to see three page moves with nothing on the talk page. Beeblebrox (talk) 23:14, 9 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
Stuff happens. I think it was actually about 6 moves since the discussion above, leaving it in the agrammatical one-comma form. I did a bold edit to fix it back to the agreed two commas; I got reverted. In the mean time, in related discussions on other articles I came to see why the two-comma thing was not happily received, and it was pointed out that most such articles aren't ambiguous across state so shouldn't have the state anyway, which nobody disagreed with, so I boldly went that way; just like the discussion linked immediately above in the #Move discussion in progress section where it was almost agreed to move this one to 2016 Pike County shootings. If someone reverts, and I still want to go that way, we'll discuss. In the meantime, anyone who disagrees or has a better idea should say so. More likely, I bet we have converged on the stable title.
