5 year delay until bridge was opened ? edit

The article currently claims the bridge was constructed in 1925 and opened in 1930. It would be exceedingly odd for a bridge to stay closed for 5 years after construction, so I am guessing that construction only started in 1925 and finished closer to 1930. Can anyone verify this ?
