I transferred the much longer article I had written under the category Paranaíba River to this stub, since in Portuguese the name of the river DOES have an accent on the "i". The pronunciation is different without the accent. I noticed that in the Enclyclopedia Britannica the accent is written. The same goes with São Francisco, which keeps the accent to differentiate from the many san franciscos in the Spanish-speaking world. Vogensen 08:39, 29 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

would like to replace this article with an English translation of the Brazilian Wikipedia arsticle, which is extensive and very informing edit

tHE mentioned brazilian article has: info/rivee, with left tributaries, right tributaries, height at source, length etc The river is subdevided into 3 sections, the higher, middle and lower; every section is treated in segements with slope, description of valley etc. I am not a Brazilian, but would be offended with critique on just about everything foreigners write about my country. Often there are compelling reasons for the way the people of Brazil solve their problems. and: It is a democracy. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Gerard Koenraadt (talkcontribs) 16:08, 28 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
