Color changes edit

"This species is one of the few fish that can change its color (lighter or darker) in response to stimuli."

I do not think there are few species of fish capable to change their colors. I would rather say it is a quite spread ability. --Mparu (msg) 10:43, 22 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Behavior edit

I added some information about the fighting behavior during combat as well as some information on aggressive behavior. I also added information about the learning behavior of the paradise fish.

Habitat and diet edit

I added some information about the natural habitat of the paradise.

Disease control edit

I added that thgood subject for behavioral genetic experiments and provided an example of one such experiment.

Evaluation: Needs More Citation/References edit

This article can be improved by adding more links to references, as well as more references that can be added as footnotes throughout the article. Many of the references have no links. Sentences and claims regarding paradise fish behavior and disease control could be strengthened by adding citational support. For example, under "Disease control," the sentence "The infection rate for dengue fever has subsequently increased in the human population, caused in part by to the lack of natural mosquito predators" should be backed up by citations that show that the dengue fever infection rate has actually increased. "Abusive"? edit

I wonder if "abusive" is the best term to use in an encyclopedia entry to describe this fish's behavior. LaivineOrodrim (talk) 17:34, 19 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
