Settin' the record straight, people!

edit

Let's try and set the record straight here. The "anonymous message boards" referred to below are in fact still in existence. See http://discussion.ottawabusinessjournal.com/index.php

I think it is important that they be left as is, for historical and other reasons.

However you cannot make new postings to these message boards. There were significant problems with certain people trying to exploit them in order to conduct personal attacks on individuals.

Under the new system, you can submit comments only to articles published in the OBJ. This might not be a "perfect" solution to the problem referred to but a "perfect" solution is not possible.

Robert, I am afraid you are incorrect. The link you included above returns a: "The page cannot be found" message.Ottawahitech (talk) 01:36, 26 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

The OBJ message board and online polls

edit

Please disregard the contents of this page. It is misleading. Michael Curran, OBJ Publisher

So why don't you fix it? I believe you are the one who created this page at Wikipedia originally? Ottawahitech (talk) 22:06, 13 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Unfortunately it appears that the OBJ has decided to "refresh" their website, and in the process they have removed the anonymous message boards and the archive of articles readers could access going back to 1999. It also appears that the publisher of OBJ Michael Curran, who originally created the OBJ Wikipedia entry, has lost interest and is not visiting this web page to check on updates. Ottawa Business Journal article removals causing loss of information at Wikipedia

edit

The decision of the OBJ to remove their old archived articles is causing another side effect here at Wikipedia, which relies on links to deleted OBJ articles. For example have a look at "Dead links in this article"(Dell) Ottawahitech (talk) 19:11, 7 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
