since there are separate pages for the shaikh lotfallah mosque and the ali qapu, should all that info be on this page?--Dlayiga 06:21, 8 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

How to better describe "all the civilized countries of the world"? edit

Hello, as a reader I was caught by this wording in the section on the Royal Square. " goods from all the civilized countries of the world, spanning from Portugal in the West, to the Middle Kingdom in the East, found its ways to the hands of gifted merchants, who knew how to make the best profits out of them." I realize after that the breadth of the countries is noted, but I'm just not sure what civilized is supposed to mean and it sounds condescending, as if there were countries not listed that I should be aware of by name that we could objectively define as uncivilized. Should I just edit out the word to read like the following?

"goods from all over world, spanning from Portugal in the West, to the Middle Kingdom in the East, found their ways into the hands of gifted merchants, who knew how to make the best profits out of them."

Edits are in bold.

Thanks for the feedback!
