Time to see if I can review this article in a shorter amount of time than it takes Nabbit to clear a stage- and he already did. Oh well, good enough. Comments soon. λ NegativeMP1 01:55, 16 April 2025 (UTC)
- I may or may not have forgotten that I decided to review this article. Oops. I'll take a look now. λ NegativeMP1 02:26, 28 April 2025 (UTC)
Prose
edit- A few usages of "Nabbit" could probably be replaced with he/him's to reduce repetition. Example: "Nabbit has also made cameo appearances in Mario Party 10, Super Mario Party and Mario Golf: Super Rush." → "He has also made cameo appearances in Mario Party 10, Super Mario Party and Mario Golf: Super Rush."
- "Nabbit is involved in various chase segments throughout the game, where catching him grants the bros. new attack moves to use in battle → "Nabbit is involved in various chase segments throughout the game, where catching him grants Mario and Luigi new attack moves to use in battle". Bros. isn't terminology used anywhere else in the article outside a game title so it might not be clear to an unfamiliar reader.
- I don't think a block quote is necessary for a single sentence that could probably be better integrated into the preceding paragraph.
- Done I have gone ahead and adjusted this quote to be in paragraph directly. CaptainGalaxy 23:51, 28 April 2025 (UTC)
- "Countering this point, Ollie Reynolds from Nintendo Life echoed the sentiment that all characters should have difficulty settings instead of singling out specific characters, adding that "no child wants to play [as Nabbit] when the likes of Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach are sitting right there"." I feel like the opinion here could easily be paraphrased without the need of a quotation. Something like "believing that no child would want to play as Nabbit over characters such as Mario or Princess Peach"?
- As a side note: I suppose this is just a consequence of the sourcing available, but I don't think this reception section would fly at a process like FA. It's fine enough by my own personal standards and the GA criteria, but I think FA would more or less expect a reception section to have topic paragraphs and not reception of a character's appearance in each individual game in a constant "X said Y" pattern. I doubt this was ever an article you thought about taking to that level but I figured I should bring that up regardless. It's fine for GA.
- Yeah, this isn't something I was expecting to reach FA. I'm fine with it reaching GA. CaptainGalaxy 23:51, 28 April 2025 (UTC)
Media
edit- The only image in the article is the character itself in the infobox, which is obviously warranted and has a valid fair use rationale.
Sourcing
edit- The handkerchief is a predominant part of Nabbit's design, is there not a source that can be used to back up the fact he wears a handkerchief that isn't a Valnet property? If not, then I guess it's fine.
- Unfortunately this is the only source that I could find mentioning this fact, even across different languages. CaptainGalaxy 23:51, 28 April 2025 (UTC)
- Checked certain uses of references 7, 8, 18, 43, and 57. All look fine. I also technically checked 38 (which is the Game Rant source.)
Final comments
editI am very, very sorry that I forgot about this article and that it took me so long to get to it. It was a nice read. I'll be placing this nomination on hold to give you time to address the comments I posted above. λ NegativeMP1 02:58, 28 April 2025 (UTC)
- @NegativeMP1: I have gone ahead and addressed these changes. Also don't sweat it, I have been taking a break from Wikipedia so I didn't mind by the wait. CaptainGalaxy 23:51, 28 April 2025 (UTC)
- Alright, everything looks good. I'll be promoting this now, good job. I hope you're doing well, by the way. λ NegativeMP1 23:56, 28 April 2025 (UTC)
