Update on maps - User:F3rn4nd0 provided me with a resource that has updated information. It will take a little time, but once complete will have an updated overview map and individual blowout maps for municipalities. Rarelibra 13:30, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

List

Someone attempted to start a page called "List of Colombian Municipalities" which was going to duplicate the efforts of this page. I have redirected that page to this article. I fleshed out the list based on the previous municipalities, as soon as I am done with the updates, I will update this list. Rarelibra 13:12, 3 May 2007 (UTC)

Individual articles

I suggest to create separate articles for the municipalities and for the towns itself.

• Category:Municipalities of Bolivia
• Category:Municipalities of Venezuela

Also

• Category:Municipalities by country

Then it would be important to give good names to the articles. For the departments "X Department" is used. I suggest to use "X Municipality" for the municipalities. Bolivia and Venezuela already use that format. It's also used by some in Europe, see Category:Municipalities by country

Furthermore, there is overlap of municipality names in Latin America, see: Category:Municipality name disambiguation pages

In case of disambiguation, one could use "X Municipality, DepartmentName"

Shall we use these formats, "X Municpality" and "X Municipality, DepartmentName"?
