Callahan as Paralympian

Wheelchairs can Jump lists Michael Callahan first in the 1984 team, and third in the 1992 team. He isnt listed in the 1888 team, nor is he listed in the 1984 team in the 1960-80 part of Wheelchairs can Jump. Likewise, we list him at Australia at the 1984 Summer Paralympics#Wheelchair Basketball and Australia at the 1992 Summer Paralympics#Wheelchair Basketball.

The IPC database only lists Callahan for the 1992 Games, but that is because 1984 participants in wheelchair basketball are not listed individually - only the team is listed.[1].

1999 APC Annual Report p. 18 talks about a multiple Paralympian Michael Callahan. this says "3 time para-lympian in the sport of basketball". This Hansard entry says "[he] captained the [national] team for many years", however that could be interpreted lots of ways.

I think we need better sources to say he was the captain during the 1984 Paralympic Games, and we should seek clarification on the possibility he was a Paralympian at another Paralympic games as the Mogo website claims. John Vandenberg ^(chat) 11:16, 10 November 2012 (UTC)

Callahan as coach

APC Annual Report 1999 lists Callahan as an assistant coach to the women's team in 1999, and this fact and source is incorporated into Australia women's national wheelchair basketball team. It would be good to have a bit more detail, and another source, about this. While I dont have any good references to underpin this yet, I believe he has done a lot of coaching or mentoring. I dont want to add that he was only an assistant coach if there is a longer career of coaching that we can summarise with a stronger statement in this article about the wheelchairs. Coaching experience would be a strength of the company that sells its products to competitors, and needs to be carefully framed to not be advertising. Clinical study

Michael provided input into this study that found "There was no published evidence (Levels 1 to 4) that lightweight, manoeuverable, individualised manual wheelchairs reduce shoulder pain/injuries in people with spina bifida, who use a manual wheelchair as their main form of mobility". Gary

This says "Michael Callaghan [sic] is also known as Gary, as a reference to Gary O'Callaghan". I cant see any use of "Gary Callahan". John Vandenberg ^(chat) 00:19, 11 November 2012 (UTC)

NWBL

(this probably belongs in a personal bio rather than in the company bio) Michael Callahan, Errol Hyde and Gerry Hewson were awarded Life Membership to the National Wheelchair Basketball League (Australia) for their contributions to the League.[2][3][4] They appear to have been heavily involved in the establishment of the initial Sydney club (around 1988?), and also the second Sydney club to join the league.
