Does anybody know for sure what nationality this person is? I mean by this that I am watching this article, and I notice that there seems to have been a few revisions to it regarding the categories it is included in. The Baroness of Morden (talk) 18:56, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

But the user is asking about his nationality not his ethnicity. His nationality is English. The union of crowns means English nationality has not existed for some time.

Date of Birth

I've requested a citation for Di Angelo's date of birth since people are continually altering it to either 6 August 1987 or 1 May 1987. I realise it's a minor point but perhaps the people who are certain they know the correct date could enlighten us as to their source, and clear it up one way or another in order to prevent so much dispute. Ok, this is going to be confusing ... The correct date is 1st of May 1987, but someone got the date of birth wrong a long time ago, so it always appears on the internet as 6th of August, and is even in the Strictly Tour brochure as the 6th of August. However Matt has always said his star sign is Taurus, which would place his birthday at the end of April or beginning of May. Back in the I Dream days his birthday was given as 1st of May, but since EastEnders it's been given as 6th of August. As Matt would be 21 sometime this year, his fans wanted to send him a birthday present on the correct date, so phoned his agent to find out when his birthday actually was. Although the agent wouldn't confirm the actual date it was indicated that a present should arrive for the beginning of May. After Matt received his birthday present it was confirmed to those who'd sent the present that his birthday was as we supposed the 1st of May. So far as we are aware there is no citation anywhere that actually confirms the date of birth but those of us who checked are absolutely certain that his birthday is the 1st of May 1987. If you have real reason to suppose the 6th of August is correct, and hasn't just been copied in error for the past few years please let us know why you believe this to be the case. Thanks! Matt himself on Ready Steady Cook, aired 28 December 07, said he was a Taurus which makes his birthday April or May, with this birth sign August is not possible. Youtube evidence of this does exist and I can post the link if necessary but concerned about copyright. The IMDB also lists his birthday as 1 May. The official East Enders site now say he is a Taurus which further supports the May date. (Grumpy Cow (talk) 15:39, 2 June 2008 (UTC))

I happen to have another reasonably good source that it is 1st May, not that that helps! But the Eastenders site (http://www.bbc.co.uk/eastenders/characters_cast/cast/cast_matt_da.shtml) is more 'official' than any fansites, being connected directly to Di Angelo. I think, therefore, that it should be kept to 1st May on the article, and not altered unless another official citation in favour of 6 August can be produced. Can you please advise how you know for certain that the d.o.b is 6 August as fairly good evidence has been provided to support the 1 May date, plus other sources that can not be named. Can we request protection for the page or something? ... it appears to be a single IP address changing the date of birth to 6th of August, and despite our best efforts to engage in a debate they've made no comments here, or on thier own talk page about this issue. I'm not even sure they're aware that there is a debate here about the date of birth, despite the fact that the've deleted the hidden comments about the debate so many times today. Loot

The reference to touring with Loot at the beginning of the page is misleading. Matt is currently starring in Loot at the Tricycle Theatre in Kilburn until the end of January. Then the whole production is moving to Newcastle for ONE WEEK from 2 - 7 February - there is no tour as far as I know. I think GMTV were getting confused with the SCD Tour which starts in Newcastle this week. Birth name

I just noticed that the birth name given as Mario Angelo Constantinou in this article was removed as unsourced, so I decided to look on Find My Past and thought it was worth noting that I found nobody called Matt or Matthew Di Angelo born in the UK in 1987, but there was a Mario Angelo Constantinou born in London in 1987. For those with access, the record is here.
