Under The Heading of HISTORY edit

This section is in rough condition. Everything from spelling to punctuation and grammar errors to improper use of upper and lower case letters. I have attempted to rewrite this section but am unaware of how to correctly add citations etc. So I am leaving my rewrite here if someone could do that part and of course I welcome corrections if I have made a factual error.

Ancient Mat was populated by an Illyrian tribe known as Pirusia. Pirusian soldiers gained a reputation for bravery after fighting the Romans of Dardania.
In the 15th Century, Skanderbeg, governor of the region that included Mat, and son of Gjon Kastrioti, also governor, rebelled against the occupying Ottomans who rulled over the region and became defacto king of Albania in the process.
In 1462, a Roman Cathollic synod was held in Mat by Cardinal Pal Egnelli Archbishop of the diocese of Durrës where he presented the baptismal formula in native Albanian to the people of Albania, the very first sentence ever written native Albanian.
