Where is the rule that fare use images cannot be used in a gallery? I cannot find such a rule, but can find many examples to the contrary.

The issue is that each claimed fair use must be grounded on separate, substantive commentary in the article that justifies the use of each image. See Wikipedia:Non-free content criteria, particularly #3 ("minimal use") and #8 ("significance"). The fact that we have an article on the artist does not mean that we have the legal right to post a gallery of whatever works of his we can find. Postdlf 00:11, 1 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
