Merge proposal edit

This is clearly a duplicated article and should be merged with Lord Keeper of the Privy Seal of Japan. Bueller 007 (talk) 07:30, 20 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Not clearly duplicative. Not appropriate for merging at this time. --Ooperhoofd (talk) 13:38, 20 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
Removing merge tag -- probably premature for now.--Ooperhoofd (talk) 21:18, 5 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Just offering additional context for removing merge tag because "[t]he office of the Lord Keeper of the Privy Seal was identical with the old Naidaijin only in name."[1] and [2]

Under the circumstances, perhaps it will be perceived as helpful if this exchange (originally at Talk:Naidaijin) is redundantly copied here at Talk:Lord Keeper of the Privy Seal of Japan? --Ooperhoofd (talk) 20:29, 6 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Brit speak? edit

How did this Japanese title develop such a UK specific translation? Does "Naidaijin" actually carry the connotation of being a "Lord"? How can Japan have a "privy" seal when they don't have a privy council? 151.197.217.190 (talk) 12:22, 26 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

When abolished? edit

According to the National Diet Library cited in Footnote 2, "The office of the Lord Keeper of the Privy Seal was officially abolished on 24 November 1945." According to the list of officeholders, Kido Kōichi was dismissed from the office on that day and on 25 November, Fujita Hisanori succeeded him. These can't both be correct. I'm guessing there is an inconsistency among the sources, so can someone check which of these is the correct information? It may be that "the office was abolished" is an incorrect translation (though from an official source.) ESentinel (talk) 15:27, 19 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
