Shashanka edit

I rewrote the introduction and added Shashanka as a separate section, since he was definately independent of any dynasty and as influential in Bengali history as several of the dynasties combined. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.211.249.183 (talk) 22:34, 12 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

The introduction is too long edit

The current introduction is too long, it doesn't look good. The introduction shouldn't be history lesson of Bengal, it should be a super brief overview about the list.

Chief Agents of East India Company be considered as rulers of Bengal ? edit

After the battle of Plassey in 1757, Robert Clive took the position as the Governor of Bengal. Should the chief agents before 1757 be considered as the rulers of Bengal and belong to this list ? I suggest to remove their names from this list. altaf 07:19, 23 December 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Md.altaf.rahman (talkcontribs)

About the reign of Shamsher Ghazi from 1748 to 1760AD edit

Shamsher Gazi was also an independent governor of Eastern Bengal Tipara region's bounded to the east Hill Tripura, to the south Chittagong from shitakunda and Sylhet to the North- East, to the north - Dhaka Munshiganj and to the west Meghna river. The present district Comilla, Chandpur, Brahamman Baria, Laxmipur, Noakhali and Feni were his independent Governnorship. Feni was his birth place. He kept this area independent and he was assassinated by a tricky conspiracy of hill Tripura Maharajs Manikya in collabiration of newly established East indian comany in idian sub continent who were being ill guided heinous Mir zafar Ali khan and his son Mir kashem. The people of all religion were happy during his reign as kept the commodity price with in the capacity of mass people and saved the mass from the brutality of Nawab and Zamindar. It is a sorrowful matter for Bengali that Bengali hero like him was less focused in history. Sere Bangla A K Fazlul Haque's history also to be enlighted in the history as he saved all poor in both Bengal by withdrawal of Zamindari system and establishing the tenancy Act in 1950 AD Shafiqur Mazumdar (talk) 17:56, 23 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Merger with History of Bengal? edit

This article is gigantic and a lot of it is unverified. May benefit with a merger with the History of Bengal article?Michael Curnow (talk) 12:25, 18 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Furthermore, certain periods are described when Bengal did not even exist as a concept. Should I delete them?Michael Curnow (talk) 12:27, 18 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Karna? edit

The article conflates Hindu mythology with history by including rulers such as Romapada, Karna, and Vrishaketu in the ancient period section. Someone please add reliable sources to the historical kings of Bengal in this period. Chronikhiles (talk) 13:06, 8 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
