Pipe Size Convention edit

This page adopts a convention for specifying the size of a pipe. The pipe dimension, given typically in inches, is the diameter of the pipe. So the word "diameter" is assumed; you don't need to add it to the size. When used as an adjective the number of inches is hyphenated. For example, '16-inch diameter' and '16-inch-diameter' and '16 inch' and '16 inch diameter' all become '16-inch'. Also, for numbers less than 10, we still use digits instead of words, so three-inch would be 3-inch. This is to be consistent with all the other dimensions on this page.

I have edited this page so all the pipe dimensions follow this convention. --Bill.albing (talk) 04:08, 2 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Sorting Order edit

Does anyone else think we should sort the listing so that the most recent incident is seen first (top of page)? --Bill.albing (talk) 04:08, 2 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

I disagree, since the article is named "List of pipeline accidents in the United States 1950 to 1974", it is applied that the list will begin with accidents in 1950. Camyoung54 talk 20:07, 24 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
