Talk:List of museums in South Korea

Location and Layout edit

I took some liberties and tried to make the page more informative by adding a location column. I suppose the format here should be (Dong, Gu, City) for the special cities and (Gu, City, Province) for the regular cities. If it is under a special section like "seoul" then I suppose we can just leave it at (dong, gu). It appears that many of these museums are listed in the wrong places. Yongin is not in Seoul and Bucheon is not outside of Gyeonggi-do. As we discover the locations, we should move them. If we get enough information, then we should list them by province and special cities. Also, what order are they in? It seems rather arbitrary. Let's just make them alphabetical or something. Jebiwool in wrong area edit

Looks like the Jebiwool Art Museum is in Galhyeon-dong, Gwacheon-si, Gyeonggi-do, not in Seoul. Badagnani (talk) 20:18, 30 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

merger proposal edit

I don't think merging the two is an ideal solution. There are a number of museums in SK but not in Seoul. See List of museums in New York compared to List of museums and cultural institutions in New York City for a similar example. I don't think the two are repetitive and both could be complete. What's the merger rationale? TravellingCarithe Busy Bee 04:20, 12 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

I believe having two lists of museums in Seoul is redundant, unnecessary & leads to inconsistency across articles. The two lists with New York City museums is also redundant. I recommend incorporating the museums from this list into the List of museums in Seoul & adding a link to that page on this article. This would be a similar format as List of museums in the United States with each state having separate pages with links to them. Thanks! FieldMarine (talk) 06:01, 20 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Well no, they're not redundant if the museums in Seoul are not listed on the museums in SK but rather just a link to the list of museums in Seoul. TravellingCari 14:46, 20 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

I’m not really sure what you mean? Do you agree or disagree with the following proposal?
1. Keep the List of museums in Seoul article.
2. Merge all museums from List of museums in South Korea into the List of museums in Seoul article.
3. Place a link to List of museums in Seoul on the List of museums in South Korea article.
4. Once all museums from List of museums in South Korea are listed in List of museums in Seoul, then remove the duplicate entries from the List of museums in South Korea.

This way they are not listed twice, which seems redundant. Thanks! FieldMarine (talk) 15:01, 1 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Clarification, I hope. List all museums in Seoul on List of museums in Seoul and not on List of museums in South Korea. From the South Korea, there can be a link to the Seoul list, which has a complete list. Is that clearer? TravellingCari 02:46, 2 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Looks lile we are saying the same thing & are in agreement. Thanks! FieldMarine (talk) 12:10, 7 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
always a good sign :) TravellingCari 21:12, 7 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

You've done a good job with this, FM TravellingCari 02:49, 8 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Article recommendations edit

  • Recommend alphabetizing the museums on the list. That would make this much easier to use. Thanks! FieldMarine (talk) 06:28, 26 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
  • Sortable table for name & location would also be helpful. Thanks! FieldMarine (talk) 06:33, 26 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
Alphabetizing done. FieldMarine (talk) 04:23, 20 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
