Talk:List of fictitious stories in Romance of the Three Kingdoms

Latest comment: 4 years ago by Underbar dk in topic Name of the list

for this extremely famous novel, its differences from the history of the period which in most respects it follows very closely--is quite possibly encyclopedic, and quite possibly sufficient for a separate article. The topic seems to be referenced. Probably the title could be clarified a little. I'll bring it to the attention of the relevant workgroups. DGG (talk) 00:32, 30 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Name of the list edit

About the name of the list, I changed it from 'fake' to 'fictitous', since I think 'fake' sounds like 'lies'. Well, there are dozens of adjectives that can be used like: false, fake, untrue; but 'fictitious' is more used for novels and literature in general. Even "fictitious" is contentious. These are just stories that weren't included in the official court histories. There's no concrete evidence whatsoever that they are false, and likewise no evidence to prove that the official records are true. I will change it to "apocryphal" (meaning: of doubtful authenticity, although widely circulated as being true.) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Natnair (talkcontribs) 20:08, 18 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
Not only are these stories not included in court histories, these are stories from a fictional novel from a thousand years after the events it depicts. That makes it fictitious. _dk (talk) 02:17, 19 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Cleanup edit

I can't say anything about the accuracy of the content, but I have fixed up the writing. Maybe the cleanup template can be taken off. --Denise from the Cosby Show (talk) 01:23, 17 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Zhuge Liang's maze edit

That's got to be a fictitious account?! Imagine Reason (talk) 19:40, 24 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Note that it is an incomplete list of fictitious stories edit

This must be an incomplete list, as the Romance of the Three Kingdoms is an extremely long novel. Perhaps something like "Since it is a popular novel, meant to entertain, Many of the stories in Romance of the Three Kingdoms are fictitious, and what follows is an incomplete list of the more important fictitious stories." should be introduced to the top of the page? Otherwise a reader may think that if a story is not listed here, it must by default, be true. lk (talk) 07:12, 28 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
