I assessed this as a start class article because it gives no indication of completeness, and also it seems to have a lot of external links where I would expect to see red or blue links, or some conscious decision that an article is not required. Feel free to update with your own assessment. Though some dolphinariums do have articles on wikipedia and are linked to, in most cases so far there is no article (that I'm aware of anyway). But as a form of reference, I link to the dolphinarium websites in that case. As for completeness, there will without a doubt be a few issues with this list - but I am willing to say that from what I know this is the most complete list in existance anywhere. The UK entry was deleted because all dolphinariums in the UK have closed mostly due to the lack of funding to build bigger tanks to fit new regulations (1993). I have restored it because the fact that there are none makes this arguably the most significant entry on the page. There are other reasons to keep it: addressing concerns about completeness (Why would a large developed country not have an entry on this list? The most likely answer is simply that no-one has bothered to gather the information, that's certainly what I would have assumed if I had never looked at the page before); Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a tourist guide, so it should maintain a historical perspective. This article needs to have wiki links instead of external links, even if they are red. This will let us see what articles still need to be created. I have listed this as an article needing cleanup in the zoo portal. Donlammers (talk) 20:49, 28 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

I am starting through this article and turning each item into a wiki link with a URL after it. This will probably take me a week or more considering the state of the items I've looked at so far. In the process, I am going to eliminate any item for which the URL does not lead to a reliable source, and for which I cannot find such a source by using Google. I do NOT count other encyclopedic web sites as reliable -- most of them are just mirrors of this page, and as soon as we remove the item from this page they will stop listing it too. In a few weeks, we should have a better idea of what actually exists out there and what is just a bunch of circular references with no verifiability. If anyone has a real reference to something that I delete, please do not hesitate to add it back in -- along with a link to the source, of course.

If you want to start creating articles based on real URLs, that would be fantastic. IMHO, that is generally the best way to get rid of red links. If you have questions about how to create a decent stub-class article (it shouldn't take more than an hour or so each), I have a template in my sandbox that I am using (and you can copy) and can provide some advice as well.
