Meaning of "baked goods" edit

The phrase "baked goods" has a narrower meaning in English than "anything cooked in an oven". In general it refers to bread, cakes, and pastries. See these dictionary definitions:

  • Merriam Webster: "a food (such as a bread, cake, or cookie) made from a dough or batter that is baked —usually plural" [1]
  • Oxford/Lexico: "Bread, cakes, pastries, and similar items of food that are cooked in an oven." [2]
  • Webster's: "foods made from a flour dough or batter and baked until firm, browned, crusty, etc.; breads, cakes, cookies, etc." [3]
  • etc...

Accordingly, I've removed the listings of several items such as lasagne that are not considered "baked goods". --IamNotU (talk) 12:36, 17 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
