Thomas Hoby Ambassador in 1557? I don't think so edit

The Oxford DNB, and from there, the Wikipedia entry for Thomas Hoby says "Hoby was knighted at Greenwich on 9 March 1566, and was appointed ambassador to France at the end of the month."

I can find no citation for Hoby being Ambassador in 1557. If we can't substantiate it, I have to take it out and correct the date to 1566. Folks, what do you think? ZoneAlarm5 (talk) 01:54, 27 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
