Yamaha PSR-S500 merge edit

What is the sense of this article? --Weissmann (talk) 10:15, 14 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Is there anbody out there? The article is only a marketing tool for a japanese company. Is Wikipedia a marketing tool for japanese companies? All the best --Weissmann (talk) 13:45, 17 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Citation: This list is incomplete; you can help by expanding it. Why? Best --Weissmann (talk) 08:12, 18 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Why not? The list is incomplete and someone may have further information that can be added. It also advises someone who may think they are looking at a complete list that it isn't. PS, read WP:CITE for what citation really means. --JD554 (talk) 08:39, 18 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
There is a lot to do here. In my opinion there is no need for a article with the complete list of Yamaha products. I would prefer to create a complete list with Waldorf products. Best --Weissmann (talk) 14:27, 18 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

It would be great if the year of introduction were listed here as well. DaveHorne (talk) 13:54, 3 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

It would be great if a/the history-of-the-company article was linked to, near the beginning of this article, too. Darr247 (talk) 03:53, 24 April 2014 (UTC)Reply
nevermind... I found it. :) Darr247 (talk) 03:57, 24 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Is there anything that Yamaha can't do? They sell just about anything you can think! ;D — Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.180.102.0 (talk) 22:36, 12 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Image edit

I have removed File:Yamaha Rock Tour Custom.jpg from the article... it adds nothing to the article, and it's a disgracefully bad setup. Yamaha are a competent drum manufacturer and deserve not to be associated with it!

The image that remains of the Oak Custom kit is more than adequate, it's a far more notable line than the Rock Tour kit, and it's properly set up.

I wish I could find a better image for the Yamaha Rock Tour Custom article. The article is probably worth saving rather than deleting but as it is it's a bit sad, it looks like some kid who doesn't have anyone to show him how to set his kit up (an all too common story) wrote the article from the Yamaha brochure and took the photo to show off his gear. I may be wrong... Andrewa (talk) 00:36, 23 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

The is a model missing under guitars, FG section...it is model no. FG460s 12a. It is a 12 string made from 1988 - 1994 I believe. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.45.189.179 (talk) 22:59, 7 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

There are portable keyboards in the PSR-E series missing. I went to the article trying to sort out how old some of the models are, which are old and which current. Hard to keep it up-to-date and complete. Yes, it's maybe just marketing for Yamaha, but I'd find it useful if complete. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Freond (talkcontribs) 02:29, 21 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Models Missing edit

The Yamaha guitar ST360M was produced for one year, 1984. There are two other ST models with higher number models also in the St series. There is no mention of those guitars in the Electric Guitar section. Earl King Jr. (talk) 13:51, 15 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

GT-40 Yamaha 3/4 size Guitar is missing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.126.8.80 (talk) 19:44, 28 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Please be bold and add missing products.Jonpatterns (talk) 07:30, 7 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hello there! I added a classical guitar model that I saw was missing. It is the C-530 classical guitar. I contacted Yamaha Corp. to verify the legitimacy of the guitar. They did verify it was a Yamaha, but they had not heard of the model either. Perhaps for Japanese distribution only? The guy I bought it from said he had acquired it in Japan 25 years ago. --And2rep (talk) 20:15, 16 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Electone C-55 is missing, should be added to the line after C-35, produced in 1979 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.56.51.156 (talk) 22:05, 8 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Article naming edit

Should there be two article, one on Yamaha products in general and one focusing on musical instruments? Jonpatterns (talk) 07:30, 7 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Question / abandoned keyboards edit

Is there a source somewhere telling us when (and why) a concrete keyboard type's factoring and supporting by Yamaha was abandoned? PSR-s700 which I'm interested in, but others should be known too. Gubbubu 12:15, 13 March 2017 (UTC)

Unclear dates / discrepancy of date listed for Yamaha PortaTone PSR 31 edit

The entry for the Yamaha PortaTone PSR 31 reads 1991, with its sister keyboard the PortaTone PSR 32 having the year 1987. At first glance, I read the entry for the PSR 31 as having been manufactured in 1991 but actually there is evidence (such as the service manual that reads 1986) to suggest that it is from 1986 and that it is a precursor to the PSR 32. Is the year for each Yamaha Corporation product listed supposed to indicate when production ceased or perhaps when sales ended?

A Reverb.com listing for the aforesaid service manual shows a photograph of the manual that dates it to 1986. [1]

The service manual can be obtained in .pdf form on elektrotanya. It is entitled (sic) "YAMAHA PSR-31 C." Downloaded .pdf file version of the service manual also indicates that the PSR 31 is from 1986. [2] I think the use of "C" in the title is a typographical error.

Anyway, I would greatly appreciate the help/clarification.

Silent pianos update edit

Updated the section on silent pianos. Considering if a dedicated page to yamaha silent pianos should be made with an overview of models and highlevel features. it's a bit of a jungle. KristofferLippert (talk) 19:05, 20 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Unfortunately this edit also trashed the hierarchy. I have repaired it. Best wishes to all, DBaK (talk) 00:00, 2 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

VKB-100 edit

Not sure which section it should go in, but it appears the VKB-100, a Vocaloid-branded keytar which Yamaha launched in 2017, isn't listed here. Here's two sources covering it. Hopefully some other editor knows where it goes. QuietHere (talk | contributions) 04:43, 10 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
