Nomination edit

I would nominate 'Woodland v Essex County Council' [2013] UKSC 66 (23 October 2013) to be mentioned in Wikipedia : a school is liable for the care by a contractual third party (swimming lessons), even if the relation between pupil/parents and the school is not contractual. (judgment at [1], commentary at [2]).--Bancki (talk) 12:59, 26 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

What a long list... edit

As I write this the Supreme Court is on break at the end of the Trinity Term in 2015 having already decided 404 cases since its inception in 2009. With this in mind I wonder aloud at what point such a long list fails to be of use to the average user. I notice that our friends across the pond have an index page entitled "Lists of United States Supreme Court cases" that not only lists the cases by year (as we do) but also has lists based on the cases decided under the various Chief Justices (e.g. "List of United States Supreme Court cases by the Roberts Court"). It is perhaps too early to make such a transition yet but worth considering when Neuberger retires. WakelessGrub (talk) 12:34, 21 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

This page is excellent edit

Can I thank the people (or person!) that have chiefly worked on this - it's incredibly useful, especially to have the subject areas that each case relates to. I don't know if anyone wants to volunteer, but it'd also be great to have

  • another column for the press summaries
  • links to bailii on all the neutral citations

If someone beats me to it, or even makes a start, you'd have my infinite gratitude! Wikidea 15:03, 17 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thanks to User:Tracland for doing such an excellent job. Can I suggest, many of the pdf links are now dead - it's probably better to always use the Bailii link for the judgment (as opposed to the press summaries of the UKSC, which are invariably superb). Wikidea 12:16, 5 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

No problem, can easily link to the Bailii links if the UKSC links are showing as dead. For the recent (2019 and 2020) judgements that I have updated I have linked directly to the judgement itself on the UKSC site rather than the press summary. If any of these are now showing as dead then please let me know and I can link to the Bailii links instead. Thanks Tracland (talk) 10:27, 8 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
