Jain school in ancient Indian mathematics

"Ancient Jain Mathematics" is a book written by Prof.R.C.Gupta printed at Jain Humanities Press, Canada and United States of America, see BOOK 'ANCIENT JAIN MATHEMATICS' TO BE RELEASED AT MYSORE. I received it these days.

List of Indian Mathematical and Scientific Journals

I feel that at some point in the near future, I should put a list of some of the journals of this type up to show what mathematical work has been going on within that part of the world in recent times.

For the moment, the above will have to do.

Jaideep Garg

I removed the reference to Jaideep Garg. Could not find any evidence for his prominence in the field of mathematics. Please correct if I am wrong.

Vedic mathematician

Is Aditya Bhatta a Vedic mathematician. I could not find any evidence. Overall, somebody with the required knowledge should doublecheck the list. Fabian Hassler (talk) 08:26, 27 June 2010 (UTC)

On classifying those of "Indian-origin" as Indian

It is contestable whether Manjula Bhargava should be added into the list of Indian mathematicians considering that he was never born in India and as far as I know, never lived there for a significant period of time. I can't see why he should be classified as Indian.

Chandrashekhar Khare and Akshay Venkatesh were both born in India but left the country very early on.
