I was suprised this page didn't exist before. The page American Experience had a dead link to a category page for a list of episodes, but I decided to use the same format as Frontline (US TV series). I used the same episode categorization that the Amex website uses; however, some episodes are applicable to more than one category.Xpanzion 03:55, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

I've been compiling a list for a while and decided to share it here. It's as complete as I've been able to find. I incorporated most of what was presented before into the table. Season & episode numbering

The season and episode numbers on this page need to be reviewed and corrected. They don't match what IMDB has, and the American Experience website now indicates the show is celebrating 25 years on the air, which would seem to back up my theory that this isn't season 26 that just started. I haven't found a PBS source for season or episode numbers, and they can't be gleaned from the production codes. Anyone know where to find a reliable source on the internet for this information? I can't remember if I used IMBD as a reference for the original numbering. Given the differences, probably not. The original numbering resulted from different sources and judgment. This was my first contribution to Wikipedia, so I was focused on supplying as much information as I could. It was difficult finding consistent information among the many sources. Even found instances when the PBS website wasn't always correct. Your changes and adding conformity to other sources are appreciated. The Battle of Chosin - Episode Number?

Here, "The Battle of Chosin" is 28-08

But here [1] it is 29-02

The episode "The Battle of Chosin" appeared during season 28 as the eighth and final new episode of that season. If you examine the "Our Funders" link from the American Experience website, they list "The Battle of Chosin" episode during the eighth season as the final episode with the designation 2902. That designation appears to be a production code number. The American Experience website does not appear to explain the rationale for construction of these designations. If there is a rationale given, then I have not seen it.

In regards to the IMDb website, I can only assume a contributor to the IMDb site used this designation as an explicit statement of the actual season and episode during that season. However, that assumption is not the case. Also, the content from the IMDb website is not an acceptable source according to section "User-generated content" in the Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources guidelines which states,

Content from websites whose content is largely user-generated is also generally unacceptable. Sites with user-generated content include personal websites, personal blogs, group blogs, internet forums, the Internet Movie Database (IMDb), the Comic Book Database (CBDB.com), content farms, most wikis including Wikipedia, and other collaboratively created websites. In particular, a wikilink is not a reliable source.
