Is Lilyturf really the common name for Liriope? I've never come across the name in British English or in my life, till I came across Wikipedia. And I have grown, bought, and planted the thing in bulk many times. While we cannot put that much faith in google searches, Liriope turns up many more results. It is also more specific, the term lilyturf seems to be applied to Ophiopogon as well.

I therefore propose that this article be renamed to Liriope.

Pronunciation edit

While somewhat interesting, the section on pronunciation is not really appropriate to a botanical entry. The standard for pronouncing Latin names is pretty well established - it should be close to modern Italian. There is a system called 'reformed academic' for Latin as a language, but for botanical Latin Stearn, Botanical Latin, Chapter 4, is the usual authority. The mispronunciations of Georgia gardeners might be interesting, but not relevant! To set the record straight, the pronunciation assigned in this article to British gardeners is the correct one, and would be used universally by botanists.
