Weight of chain vs cable edit
Section "Cable lift": "Because a cable is much lighter than a chain, cable lifts are much faster than chain lifts and can be used on much steeper hills - even vertical." - This sounds suspicious. Since the chain is a loop, the portion of the chain going downhill counterbalances the portion being raised uphill, and the weight of the chain being raised should be effectively close to zero. -- 201.37.229.117 (talk) 12:20, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
Terminology edit

Magnets don't hold the chain to the trough edit
The weight of the chain alone is enough to keep it seated in its trough--magnets are not used. 75.25.95.60 (talk) 18:22, 5 July 2010 (UTC)
