Talk:Leverkusen

"Leverkusen was founded in 1930 by merging the above mentioned villages, that had become towns in the meantime." - Actually, when Leverkusen was founded in 1930 it consisted only of Wiesdorf, Schlebusch, Rheindorf and Steinbüchel. At the same time, Lützenkirchen and Quettingen became part of Opladen. The other "above mentioned villages" - Opladen and Bergisch Neukirchen, togehter with Hitdorf which had been part of Monheim until then - became part of Leverkusen later, in 1975. --80.132.231.36 (talk) 18:16, 2 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Origins of the name? edit

The origins of the name "Leverkusen" would be worth explaining in the text. At least to a non-German speaker, the name sounds rather peculiar. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.154.249.224 (talk) 22:06, 29 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
