There is no need for a better/newer source. The cited source (https://academic.oup.com/sysbio/article/53/3/433/2842876?login=false) already says it, but form unknown reasons, Pentalagus is not included. Per https://academic.oup.com/view-large/figure/124600546/53-3-433-f3.gif, I think that the cladogram should be as follows:

Leporidae	Nesolagus (striped rabbits) Poelagus (Bunyoro rabbit) Pronolagus (red rock hares) Romerolagus (volcano rabbit) Sylvilagus (cottontails) Brachylagus (pygmy rabbit) Caprolagus (hispid hare) Oryctolagus (European rabbit) Bunolagus (riverine rabbit) Pentalagus (Amami rabbit) Lepus (hares)

Sylvilagus graysoni size

So the article says they are about 21cm in length. However, this article says 46: https://academic.oup.com/mspecies/article/doi/10.2307/3504378/2600164?login=false (page 1, section on General Characters).

I don't have the rights to read the reference in this article and confirm whether it's really saying 21, or what its source is. IAmNitpicking (talk) 15:18, 2 July 2022 (UTC)

dental formula

It gives the dental formula, saying "The dental formula of most, though not all, leporids". It does not cite a reference. In all my mammal books, it gives the SAME dental formula for all leporids. Does anyone have a source that says otherwise? If not, I'll remove the "though not all". Sunandshade (talk) 05:40, 13 December 2023 (UTC)
