A question about the origin ? edit

If Kumyks are descendants of Khazars how could Ptolemy know about them five centuries before the emergence of Khazar kaganette ? Nedim Ardoğa (talk) 11:51, 22 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Nedim Ardoğa Hey, Nedim. The point is that Khazarian origin is more or less scientifically proven (most importantly by language and cultural inheritance) while everything before is highly speculative. And Kumyk historiography doesn't like sourceless appropriation but seeks some argumented precision.--Arsenekoumyk (talk) 19:31, 2 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Notable Kumyks edit

The paragraph Notable Kumyks is placed in a strange place — preamble. Where should it be relocated, what is usual practice?--Arsenekoumyk (talk) 15:07, 9 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Arsenekoumyk typically it is the last or second-to-last section. --Calthinus (talk) 03:03, 26 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Kumyk plateau edit

There is no source for the "Kumyk plateau", especially not for it ranging over 4 republics."living in the Kumyk plateau (northern Dagestan and Chechnya), the lands bordering the Caspian Sea, Northern Ossetia, Chechnya and the banks of the Terek river" while in reality it is just a handful villages in 3 of those 4 republics. I demand this to be phrased differently since it's not true. --Zandxo (talk) 19:48, 15 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

in your world there isn't, but in fact: 1) Физическая география Дагестанской АССР / Проф. К. К. Гюль, С. В. Власова, И. М. Кисин / 1959 2) Физическая география Дагестанской АССР / Проф. К. К. Гюль, С. В. Власова, И. М. Кисин / 1959. --Arsenekoumyk (talk) 19:51, 15 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
There is indeed a Kumyk plateua, but only in Dagestan, it ranges from the Terek to the Sulak, doesn't touch Northern Ossetia or Chechnya. It's part of the Tersko-Sulak lowland, which is right central of Dagestan. --Zandxo (talk) 20:04, 15 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
well, you were just recently shouting that there isn't a Kumyk plateau. Perhaps, you should read further about the boarders of it while you learned it exists.--Arsenekoumyk (talk) 20:13, 15 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
My original thought was about that there is no source about hte Kumyk plateau being stretched that far (over 4 republics) and I came to realisation that I was right about that. Good thing I'm from Khasavyurt, I see how "real" Kumyk plateau really is. 2 Kumyk villages in Chechnya will totally make Northern Chechnya part of it. --Zandxo (talk) 20:16, 15 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
read further and you'll learn a thing or two, perhaps, you'll stop wasting time of others--Arsenekoumyk (talk) 20:23, 15 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
How am I supposed to seek consensus with you when all you do is report me and avoid discussions? Are you from Khasavyurt? --Zandxo (talk) 20:28, 15 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
I do not avoid. you just behave according to wikipedia. and all will be great--Arsenekoumyk (talk) 20:36, 15 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
I have tried behaving according to the rules, searched for the discussion and conversation with you but you still avoid me. --Zandxo (talk) 20:48, 15 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
you have not yet--Arsenekoumyk (talk) 20:50, 15 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
I have for a while now, you still try to avoid any discussion with me though. --Zandxo (talk) 20:55, 15 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
