Krishnaswami KasturiranganKasturirangan – Per WP:COMMONNAME, Kasturirangan is the most common name. Its usually Dr. Kasturirangan or Prof. Kasturirangan. The Krishnaswami part is rarely used. Lynch7 15:41, 8 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Requested move 2012 edit

The following discussion is an archived discussion of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the proposal was move to Krishnaswamy Kasturirangan. No reason to avoid using the subject's well-known full name. Cúchullain t/c 18:42, 10 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

KasturiranganK. Kasturirangan – I think it is slightly demeaning to not have the initial name in title. For example, we have A. P. J. Abdul Kalam and not Abdul Kalam, similarly P. V. Narasimha Rao and not Narasimha Rao though the other are more "commonly used" mainly for convenience by media I believe. Regards, Lovy Singhal (talk) 12:01, 28 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

  • It is certainly unusual not to have the first name or initial in the title. The default action would be to move this article to give the first name or initial unless someone has a reason and supporting sources for not doing this. Blue Rasberry (talk) 12:37, 28 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
  • Support - or back to full name The Shaping of Indian Science: 1982-2003 - Page 2041 Indian Science Congress Association - 2003 "K. KASTURIRANGAN Dr. Krishnaswamy Kasturirangan is presently the Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), of the Space Commission, and Secretary to the Government of India in the Department of Space." • Support the move Kasturirangan → K. Kasturirangan Salih (talk) 17:03, 29 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
  • Support move but to Krishnaswamy Kasturirangan. WP:Naming conventions (people)#Single name states, "Using the last name as the page title for a person, when the first name is also known and used, is discouraged, even if that name would be unambiguous". This person's first name is both known and used (eg here), and I believe the earlier move to the mononym was misguided. --→gab 24dot grab← 19:36, 5 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

He does not have 244 papers. According to Web of Science I found 89 papers but many of them are conference presentations. Kijacob (talk) 00:07, 20 August 2017 (UTC) Also, his h-index is 9. Which is not very high. Kijacob (talk) 13:21, 20 August 2017 (UTC)Reply
