Gimmicks edit

We really need to give consideration whether gimmicks like this should be treated as serious entries within other lists and navbar templates. This is a limited release marketing campaign, a gimmick PC. The idea that we'll permanently enshrine it alongside other general availability consoles, which are truly consoles, is distasteful (pun? Maybe?). Unless more details arise that suggest this is a non-limited release and a true console with its own OS and ecosystem, we should treat it as simply a custom PC case. -- ferret (talk) 14:45, 29 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Ferret, I agree with you on that―We'll have to wait and see. However, I just wanted to ask you about what you said in one of your edit summaries: The explicit official claim is support for up to 240Hz output. No claim is made that all games will run at 240fps, which is patently absurd. However, that is incorrect. The official website does, in fact, claim to do so: "Enjoy smooth and fluid high-frame-rate gameplay at up to 240fps for ALL games, with support for 240Hz output on 4k displays." While this claim is dubious, as you pointed out, they do say so. Shouldn't it then be included in the article? Thanks, EDG 543 (message me) 23:12, 29 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
@EDG 543: "Enjoy smooth and fluid high-frame-rate gameplay at up to 240fps for all games, with support for 240Hz output on 4k displays." Again, the devil is in the details "at up to" 240fps, with support of 240Hz output. The only actual claim here, once you cut the marketing fluff out, is that the GPU supports up to 240Hz @ 4K. -- ferret (talk) 23:18, 29 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
Ferret, Ah, my 20/400 vision was too much for my glasses this time. You are indeed correct. I apologize for wasting your time. Thanks, EDG 543 (message me) 01:33, 30 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Release date edit

The sidebar says it's coming out in December, but the article says it doesn't have a release date. Wikipedia references an article that doesn't seem to have a source, so I don't know. — Preceding unsigned comment added by NathanScott97 (talkcontribs) 20:02, 26 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

I initially updated the prose with release date with the source that already existed, until I noticed it was published April 1 and ended with "Thank you for reading our April Fools". I've reverted it back to TBA. -- ferret (talk) 21:27, 26 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

It’s already out edit

Everything I’ve seen says it came out December 10, which at the time of me writing this was yesterday. 75.76.43.26 (talk) 19:41, 11 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

There's no evidence that preorders have ever begun. The December 10th date comes from an Altchar April Fool's Day article. It's never been collarborated by any reliable sources. -- ferret (talk) 20:03, 11 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
