Gent edit

It's Ghent in English, so I changed it. Funny, how the referential does say Ghent!

Kossuth...with Two S... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.204.61.47 (talkcontribs)

Although I've very occasionally seen it spelled that way, I think it's a misspelling, as all the reputable sources (e.g. [1]) use one 's'. --Delirium 12:10, 18 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Relative of Kossuth? edit

I'm just curious if he's a relative of Lajos Kossuth, the Hungarian revolutionary. Anyone have a clue? It would be interesting to add that to this article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Geza papp (talkcontribs)

I've never seen a mention that they're related (and some quick searching turns up nothing about it), so I'd guess they're not related, or at least not closely enough related for anyone to be able to trace their relation. --Delirium 12:10, 18 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
Many Hungarians have immigrated to Ohio. Kossuth is not a common name. It might be possible they're related. 97.118.63.76 (talk) 23:12, 15 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

misinfo on article - needs correction edit

I'm not sure about the etiquette of fixing incorrect info on articles so I am hesitant to change it without discussion first.

The following sentence is incorrect:

"Kosuth once declared that art is art if someone calls it art"

In Art After Philosphy, Kosuth attributes this quote to Donald Judd. In fact the entire manifesto serves to reject this notion. Kosuth has a very narrow idea of what constitutes art and even though he was friends with Judd, he did not agree with this statement at all.

I'm not proclaiming to be an expert on Kosuth, but I did just finish reading Art after philosphy and after and I've got it right here in front of me (page 17), so I'm fairly confident that this needs to be removed. The rest of the article seems accurate.

Thanks, Martin martin@martinwallace.net

I've removed the claim from the article; thanks for spotting that. The article should probably be better referenced in general to make sure stuff like that isn't still in it. --Delirium 21:54, 1 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I posted the following no the Joseph Kosuth discussion page a few weeks ago and it has not been acknowledged, so I thought maybe best to post here as well.
